Gov Otu Appoints Anam As New SEMA Director General

Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has appointed Rev. (Hon.) James Okon Anam as the new Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

Anam’s appointment was contained in a press release signed by Emmanuel Ogbeche, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on Monday, November 6, 2023.

According to the statement, the Governor charged the new appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new role.

It also stated that the appointment was with immediate effect.

“The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of Rev. (Hon.) James Okon I. Anam as the new Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

“The Governor charges the new appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new role and wishes him the best in his service to the State.

“The appointment is with immediate effect,” the statement by Ogbeche read.

CONVERSEER reports that Rev. Anam replaces Chief (Mrs) Angela Ogeyi Odey who was suspended by Governor Otu on October 30, 2023.

Mrs Odey was suspended based on the allegations that she appointed over 10 aides.
