It also debunked the rumours of records can be broken after 10 years, saying “…that was just a rumour, records can be broken anytime!”

Recall that in June 2023, Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, broke the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.

Ireland-born Alan Fisher, an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has broken two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles.

First, he claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes.

Secondly, he claimed the longest baking marathon (individual), with a time of 47 hours 21 minutes. The previous record holder was Wendy Sandner (USA) with a time of 31 hours 16 minutes.

What’s even more impressive is that Fisher took on both attempts back to back, meaning he was at work in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between!

Fisher’s restaurant, Kyojin Stewhouse focuses on the mainstays of Irish households: stews, soups, homemade breads, and potatoes.

According to him, customers would not only feel like they’re in Ireland but also feel as if they are in his home.
