Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has been crowned winner of the European Golden Shoe for the 2025-26 season, cementing his status as one of the continent’s most lethal forwards after finishing as the top league goalscorer across Europe.
The Bundesliga champions confirmed the honour in a statement on Monday.
This marks the second time Kane has landed the prestigious award, having first won it back in 2024.
The achievement places him among an elite group of multiple winners, a list that includes only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom have claimed the award on more occasions than Kane.
The England captain’s title-winning campaign in Germany saw him net 36 goals in the Bundesliga – remarkably, the exact same tally that secured him the award two years earlier.
That consistency at the highest level underlines just how dominant Kane has remained since his move to Bavaria, with his goalscoring output showing no signs of slowing down.
Kane’s numbers become even more staggering once his international exploits are factored in.
Across all competitions for club and country, the striker found the net 73 times during the season, including 12 goals for England – his best return on the international stage since the 2021-22 campaign.
The European Golden Shoe, awarded annually to the leading goalscorer across Europe’s top domestic leagues, will be formally presented to Kane at a ceremony held at the Bayern Museum inside the Allianz Arena on August 19.
Beyond his club exploits, Kane also enjoyed a historic outing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he played a starring role as England secured their best-ever finish at a men’s World Cup staged outside Europe.
During the tournament, the former Tottenham Hotspur man made history of his own, first equalling and then surpassing Gary Lineker’s long-standing record to become England’s all-time leading World Cup goalscorer.
His exploits in the United States, Mexico and Canada also lifted him into joint fifth place on the tournament’s all-time list of top scorers.
With both his club and international form peaking simultaneously, Kane’s stock has never been higher.
The Golden Shoe adds further weight to what has already been a career-defining year, and he is now widely regarded as one of the frontrunners for FIFA’s Best Men’s Player award – recognition that would place the seal on a truly remarkable season for the 32-year-old striker.
