The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has revealed that Indigenous airline, Max Air refunded N182 million to 956 passengers in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026.
The NCAA acknowledged the refunds in a post on X on Tuesday, but urged the airline to resolve passenger refund claims more promptly in line with Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.
“In the second quarter of 2026 (April, May, June), domestic operator, Max Air paid out ticket refunds to the tune of 182,099,018.88 naira, to nine hundred and fifty six passengers,” the post reads.
“While this is appreciated and acknowledged, we look forward to quicker resolution of passenger refund claims in line with Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.”
The NCAA reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights and responsibilities of passengers, operators, and other stakeholders in the aviation sector.
On December 24, 2025, the NCAA said United Nigeria Airlines and Max Air recorded the highest number of flight cancellations in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025.
The regulator also said Max Air had the second-highest flight delay rate during the period, behind Air Peace.
The NCAA had warned that it would sanction airlines that continue to violate consumer protection regulations.
