Calabar, Cross River State – The Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Projects/Programmes Monitoring and Evaluation (DPPME), Raphael Morphy, has commended the state government for the prompt intervention on the road project in School Road 1 and other link roads in Satellite Town, Calabar Municipality, being undertaken by the Ministry of Works Cross River State.
Morphy, who was on a tour of the project supervision in the area, applauded the governor and described him as a hardworking, passionate and visionary leader. Pointing out that his proactiveness in road rehabilitation and other projects needing urgent government intervention, coupled with his people-oriented programmes, is a testament to his uncommon commitment to the overall well-being of his people.
The Special Adviser stressed that he would ensure effective and consistent project supervision and further requested the Director of Civil in the Ministry of Works to provide the bill of quantity for the satellite town road intervention project.
The road rehabilitation in School Road 1, Satellite Town in Calabar Municipality Area, is linked with several other roads within the area, including the popular Ekpo Okon Street.
The roads, which have been in a deplorable state for years, have access to several other adjoining Streets, which has made driving unpleasurable and has created difficult scenarios for residents in the area.
His Excellency’s intervention through the Ministry of Works on this very important road has affirmed his “People’s First mantra”, said Mr Morphy.
