Naira slumps further at both official, parallel windows

The Nigerian currency, the naira, slumped further against the American dollar at both the official and parallel windows on Friday, March 7, 2025.

The naira traded at N1, 517.24/$1 at the official window against the N1,512.30/$1 the previous day.

This represents a loss of N4.94 for the local currency.

At the black market, the naira traded at N1,585/$1 losing N5 when compared to the N1,580/$1 the previous day.

Similarly, the naira lost N75 against the British Pound to trade at N2,000/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N1,925£1.

The Canadian Dollar still held steady at N1,200/CA$1.

The naira slumped against the Euro to trade at ₦1,650/€1 as against the previous day’s rate of ₦1,620/€1 representing a loss of N30 for the local currency.
