The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Organisation, Hon. Wole Oke, has alleged that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke lacks the educational qualification and capacity required to govern the state effectively.

Speaking on Tuesday during the party’s campaign rally in Awo, Egbedore Local Government Area, Oke urged residents to vote for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in the August 15 governorship election.

He claimed that Osun deserved “a competent, visionary and educated leader,” urging voters to reject what he described as poor leadership.

“Don’t vote for a governor who can’t read or write. Rather, vote for competence and someone with a good educational background,” Oke said.

The APC campaign chief called on residents and stakeholders in Egbedore to unite behind Oyebamiji, describing the election as an opportunity to chart a new course for the state.

He said the APC was determined to reclaim Osun, recalling that the party lost Egbedore Local Government in the 2023 election. Oke appealed to voters to “correct the mistake” of the last poll by delivering overwhelming support for the APC candidate.

Expressing confidence in the party’s chances, Oke said the large turnout of supporters at recent campaign rallies in Ede and Awo showed that the APC was gaining momentum across the state ahead of the election.

He reiterated his allegation that Governor Adeleke lacked the educational capacity to govern effectively, insisting that the state needed competent and visionary leadership.

In his remarks, APC governorship candidate Oyebamiji assured residents that his administration would usher in better days if elected.

He pledged to provide good governance, improve infrastructure, create employment opportunities and implement people-oriented programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents across Osun State.
