Merseyside, England – Mohamed Salah scored his 16th Premier League goal of the season as Liverpool came from behind to defeat Leicester City 3-1 on Boxing Day, extending their lead at the top of the table.
The talisman’s performance proved to Muslim extremists who were attacking him over Christmas post that their extremism doesn’t affect anyone’s future rather, it is inhumanity they are practicing.
“You filthy infidel dog, you will not score another goal for the rest of the season now, and the cup will go to your most feared rivals as punishment for your transgressions and betrayal,” @chiefyams, a Muslim extremist replies Salah’s Christmas Post with family on X (formerly Twitter).
Leicester stunned the Anfield crowd early when Jordan Ayew struck in the 6th minute, spinning past Liverpool’s defence and slotting the ball into the corner.
However, Liverpool equalised in first-half stoppage time as Cody Gakpo curled a brilliant strike from the edge of the box.
The Reds took control after the break, with Curtis Jones putting them ahead in the 49th minute, turning in Alexis Mac Allister’s cutback.
Gakpo seemed to have added a third, but his effort was disallowed after a VAR review ruled Darwin Nunez offside in the buildup.
Salah sealed the victory in the 82nd minute with a trademark curling effort, marking his 100th Premier League goal at Anfield. The goal poacher earlier hit the woodwork in first half.
The win moves Liverpool seven points clear of second-placed Chelsea, having played one game fewer.
