Senegal and Mauritania are strengthening their operational cooperation to address maritime challenges more effectively.
Both countries conducted their second joint maritime patrol, named “MUSTARAKA,” on 7–8 February to monitor the territorial waters shared between the two neighbouring nations.
The Senegalese Navy stated that the objective of these joint patrols is to tackle common maritime threats, with operations spanning the entire maritime border between the two countries.
This exercise takes place amid growing regional challenges in maritime security, particularly concerning illegal fishing, drug trafficking, and piracy in West African waters.
The second edition of “MUSTARAKA” highlights the commitment of Senegal and Mauritania to reinforcing their operational partnership for enhanced security within their shared maritime space.
