DEREK PHOTOGRAPHY released a set of road test spy photos of an early prototype of Ferrari’s electric car yesterday. The vehicle in the picture looks like a shooting brake, but it is possible that it is a “mule car” because it uses a lot of exterior parts from existing Ferrari and Maserati models.

IT Home Note: “Mule Car” refers to the prototype car in the development process of a new car, which uses the existing car body in white with the chassis and powertrain of the newly developed car to conduct various tests. In short, it is an “old car shell” with a “new car bottom”.

Generally speaking, there is a big difference between mule cars and real mass-produced models.

The new car unveiled this time adopts a body design similar to that of the Maserati Levante but with larger wheels, smaller ground clearance, and is equipped with LED headlights from the Ferrari Roma.

The car is equipped with a set of “decorative” quad exhaust pipes, and lightning stickers are affixed on both sides of the body, highlighting its identity as an electric car. Of course, given that Ferrari is currently keeping its first electric car design and specifications secret, this means that there are still many possibilities for this new car – a convertible sports car, a shooting brake, or a crossover.

According to previous reports, sources said Ferrari is planning to provide an extended warranty plan for the next generation of hybrid and pure electric supercars to alleviate users’ concerns about battery aging. People familiar with the matter said that Ferrari will provide a warranty service of about 7,000 euros per year for the battery. This service will give owners of hybrid models the right to replace the battery after eight years to solve possible problems.

Ferrari also recently opened a new factory, the E-building , which is responsible for the production of all Ferrari models, including the first electric car.
