Startup launches TILER Compact wireless charging upgrade kit for electric bicycles: compatible with 75% of industry models, priced at 250 euros

By Nsan Neji

AMSTERDAM (CONVERSEER) – Dutch startup TILER announced the launch of an electric bicycle wireless charging upgrade kit TILER Compact.

The corresponding kit is said to be compatible with 75% of the industry’s electric bicycles (supporting brands such as Bosch and Yamaha), and is priced at 250 euros.

According to reports, this wireless charging kit consists of a charging (kickstand) bracket and a ground wireless charging plate. The whole system has a power of 150W. The ground wireless charging plate weighs about 2kg and supports IP67 protection level, which is convenient for all-weather use/easy to adjust the placement.

The charging (kickstand) bracket requires users to install the wiring on the bicycle by themselves. After installation, users only need to park the bicycle on the charging plate to charge wirelessly.

According to official data, taking a 500Wh car battery as an example, the corresponding battery can be fully charged in about 3.5 hours, and the charging speed is basically the same as the traditional wired method.

In fact, wireless charging for non-motor vehicles is not a new concept. BMW has previously applied for a similar patent for its electric motorcycles.

In addition to being used for home use, TILER claims that the corresponding system can also be widely deployed in public scenarios, which has great advantages for shared electric bicycles and food delivery vehicles that frequently enter and exit parking spots.
