C’River PFN Chairman, congratulates Otu, Odey on S’Court triumph, harps on support for better State

    By Our Reporter

The Chairman of the Cross River State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Apostle Trinity Ogar, has congratulated Sen. Bassey Otu and Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, on their affirmation by the Supreme Court as the duly elected governor and deputy governor of Cross River State, respectively.

The cleric, in a telephone interview with our reporter after the Supreme Court verdict, on Friday, described the emergence of the duo of Governor Bassey Otu and Deputy Governor Peter Odey, as “an act of God,” stressing that the legal battles could not have gone against God’s divine plan.

Apostle Ogar, who is also the Lead Pastor of Goldcity Gospel Ministry, reiterated his appeal to aggrieved parties, urging them to sheath their partisan swords and rather join forces with ‘God’s anointed’ Governor Otu in building the Cross River state that everyone desires.

“After the Supreme Court verdict, the governor is no longer that of a political party; he is now the governor of Cross River State. He should open his arms as the father of the State and receive and treat everybody as a Cross Riverian. And we trust that with him, Cross River would get to greater glory.

“We will keep on praying for him and our dear State for it to take its pride of place in the comity of Nigerian states as the best.

“With a man of honour and integrity at the helm of affairs, you can see that positive things are beginning to happen in the state which is a pointer to a better tomorrow. So, let no one do anything that would truncate the good vision of His Excellency.

“We should rather bring our experiences to bear to see that the Otu-led administration delivers on the dividends of democracy,” the PFN Chairman remarked.

Highlighting Governor Otu’s positive start to government, the cleric said: “You can see that the potholes are disappearing. I am sure that he would go ahead with filling potholes to give us good roads. Street lights are back on the streets, our taps are back after years of dryness. We see the innovation of solar-powered lights. He is doing so much in the education sector already.

“These are signs that he is going to do well. So let us give him all the support.

“If the present administration could achieve so much without a full government on board, with an end to litigations and the subsequent appointment of heads of agencies, boards, and other parastatals, the Otu-led administration is primed to take Cross River State to greater heights,” he stated.
