Excitement is building in Yakurr Local Government Area as preparations are in top gear for the 2nd Edition of the Ugep Open Table Tennis Tournament, scheduled to hold as part of the 2026 Leboku New Yam Festival celebrations.
The epoch-making tournament will officially kick off on Wednesday, 19th August 2026 at 2:00PM at the Ukpawen Square, Ijiman-Ugep.
According to the organizers, pre-tournament screening for all participants will hold from Thursday, 20th to Friday, 21st August 2026 by 7:00AM daily. The much-anticipated grand finale will take place on Sunday, 23rd August 2026 at 2:00PM at the same venue.
While kickoff and final matches will be played at 2:00PM, all other tournament matches will commence at 7:00AM each day.
The tournament, which is open to all Yakurr sons and daughters, is proudly hosted and sponsored by DCC Okoi Arikpo Omini PSC, Deputy Controller of Customs and CEO of BLAKKAM Urban Livestock and Farms Limited and Hands Around the Neighborhood.
