Members of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Alumni Association (NAUAA), United Kingdom Chapter, are set to converge on Milton Keynes on Saturday for their 2026 Annual Convention aimed at strengthening alumni bonds, celebrating professional excellence and advancing the association’s commitment to member welfare and the development of their alma mater.

The convention is expected to bring together alumni from across the United Kingdom, alongside invited guests and community leaders from Nigeria, for a day of networking, fellowship and recognition of outstanding achievements.

Speaking during a virtual press conference ahead of the event, the association’s Public Relations Officer, Sir Chukwuanu Sunday Okagbue, said all arrangements had been concluded for what promises to be a memorable and impactful gathering.

According to him, the annual convention has become a flagship event that provides members with an opportunity to reconnect, exchange ideas and explore ways of contributing to the continued growth and development of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK).

“We have concluded arrangements for the 2026 Annual Convention, which will enable participants to network and share best practices. It is an opportunity to fellowship and recognise outstanding achievements,” he said.

He explained that beyond strengthening relationships among alumni, the convention also seeks to promote collaboration and encourage members to leverage their professional expertise in support of the university and society at large.

The event will feature several activities, including an American auction, a fundraising fair designed to generate support for the association’s programmes and community initiatives.

Another major highlight will be an awards presentation ceremony, where distinguished alumni and other deserving individuals will be honoured for their outstanding contributions to the association, professional excellence and service to their respective communities.

He expressed optimism that the convention would further reinforce the association’s vision of fostering unity among alumni while creating opportunities for mentorship, professional development and philanthropy.

“Registered members and invited guests will participate in what promises to be a memorable and impactful gathering,” he added.

The NAUAA UK chapter has continued to promote networking, mutual support and educational development among graduates of Nnamdi Azikiwe University living in the United Kingdom, while maintaining strong ties with the institution through various developmental and alumni engagement initiatives.
