Award-winning Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that maintaining his lifestyle as one of Africa’s biggest music exports comes with enormous financial commitments, disclosing that he spends between ₦300 million and ₦400 million every month.

The singer said the cost of sustaining his celebrity status extends far beyond personal luxury, stressing that his monthly expenses exclude the upkeep of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, and other members of his household.

Davido made the revelation during a recent livestream with content creator Davrel, where he offered fans a rare insight into the financial realities of life at the highest level of the entertainment industry.

According to the Grammy-nominated artiste, his average monthly expenditure ranges between $200,000 and $300,000, equivalent to about ₦300 million to ₦400 million, reflecting the demands that come with his global career and public profile.

“I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household,” Davido said.

The singer explained that the figure also excludes major lifestyle purchases such as luxury vehicles and expensive jewellery, indicating that his actual spending can be significantly higher in months when such acquisitions are made.

Widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most successful entertainers, Davido has built a career spanning more than a decade, headlining sold-out concerts around the world, securing international endorsements and consistently ranking among Africa’s highest-earning musicians.

His latest remarks have since sparked conversations on social media, with many fans reacting to the scale of his monthly expenditure and the realities of sustaining life as a global celebrity.
