Cross River State governor’s wife, Her Excellency, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu, has received commendation from members of the Cross River State Women Parliament on her efforts at ameliorating the hardship faced by expectant mothers and street children – describing it as laudable and unprecedented.

The commendation was made in a motion moved by the Leader of the Cross River State Women Parliament, Rt. Hon. Patricia Ikpai, member representing Abi State constituency and supported by six other representatives.

In her motion, Hon. Ikpai maintained that the Women’s Parliament appreciate the provision of antenatal kits for expectant mothers across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State, relocation of “street children” in Calabar, outreaches to schools and construction of a modern kitchen at the Calabar Correctional Centre among others, through Her Excellency, Reverend Mrs Otu’s pet project, “HUMANITY WITHOUT BORDERS”.

The motion which was co-sponsored by six members and supported by several others referred to Reverend Mrs Otu’s pet project, “HUMANITY BEYOND BORDERS” as a lifesaver for women, the girl child and youths within a short period of four months in office as mother of Cross Riverians.
