This is not the first time people have trekked long distances for politicians in Nigeria. The other was a man who trekked from Lagos to Abuja for former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The most recent being that of Agbor Joseph Ejini, who trekked from Obudu to Calabar in November 2023 to meet with the State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey.

CONVERSEER reports that Odey rewarded Ejini with one million naira (N1 million) for his boldness.
