Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S25 Ultra mobile phone at the Galaxy Unpacked conference held early this morning. One of its highlights is that it is the first to use Corning’s second-generation Gorilla Armor 2, which is the industry’s first anti-reflective glass ceramic for mobile devices.
Just one year after the release of the first generation of Gorilla® Armor, this upgraded version was quickly unveiled, further improving the screen’s protection capabilities.

Gorilla® Armor 2 is even more durable than the first generation, better able to withstand the roughness and unpredictability of everyday life. Specifically, Gorilla® Armor 2 is engineered to resist damage more effectively than ever before when dropped on rough, challenging surfaces.
The anti-reflective properties of Gorilla® Armor 2 greatly reduce surface reflections in indoor and outdoor environments. Gorilla® Armor 2 drop test
In Corning lab tests, Gorilla® Armor 2 survived a 2.2-meter drop onto a surface that simulates concrete. Other glass-ceramic materials fail after a one-meter drop.
Additionally, Gorilla® Armor 2 maintains its exceptional scratch resistance, which is more than four times more scratch resistant than competing lithium aluminosilicate cover glasses with anti-reflective coatings.
