Calabar, Nigeria – The Cross River State Ministry of Education has announced that public and private primary and secondary schools across the state will resume for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic session on Monday, January 6, 2025.

In a statement signed by Barr. Frank A. Oyije, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, parents and guardians have been urged to ensure their children and wards return to school promptly, as academic activities are set to commence immediately.

Teaching and non-teaching staff in all schools have also been directed to report to their duty posts without delay. Quality Assurance officers have been mandated to monitor academic activities across the state to ensure compliance with the ministry’s directives.

The Ministry has emphasised that all public and private schools are required to adhere to the resumption guidelines as outlined in its earlier publication.

The Commissioner for Education, Senator (Dr) Stephen Odey, extended warm wishes to all stakeholders, expressing hopes for a productive second term and a prosperous new year.
