From Lateef Dada Osogbo

The Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has appointed Dr Odeyemi Tosin as the Acting Chairman of the party in Osun State, with immediate effect.

Tosin is a former Osun State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The appointment is contained in a letter signed by DLA National Chairman, Barr. Samuel M. Memeh, and dated 17 July 2026.

The letter states the appointment followed approval by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), and was made under the powers of the National Chairman and National Working Committee (NWC) according to the DLA Constitution.

The DLA letter says Dr Odeyemi Tosin is to establish and maintain effective party structures across Osun, uphold the party’s constitution and ideology, and report directly to the NWC on the progress and activities of the Osun chapter.

The party also noted that the appointment is “at the pleasure of the National Working Committee,” subject to review after congresses to elect substantive executives, or if party rules/directives are violated.

A copy of the appointment letter was also copied the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

DLA said the move is part of efforts to reposition the party and strengthen its grassroots presence in Osun ahead of future political engagements.

Tosin thanked the National Chairman, NEC, and NWC for the confidence reposed in him. He said the appointment is a “call to service” and pledged to rebuild, unite, and expand DLA structures across all 30 local government areas of Osun.

He also promised that the Osun chapter will operate with transparency, discipline, and integrity, as he called on members and stakeholders to support the new direction.
