The Federal College of Education, FCE Obudu has successfully conducted its Computer-Based Test, CBT exams for NCE students as part of the College’s transition to digital-based assessment for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The examinations, which covered both Education (EDU) and General Studies (GSC) courses, were simultaneously held at the Main Campus and the Bebi Campus, with students participating actively in the exercise.
The successful conduct of the examinations marked another important milestone in the College’s commitment to modernizing its academic and examination processes through technology-driven solutions. Students were observed confidently navigating the computer systems, reflecting the impact of the earlier demo CBT exercise organized by the College to prepare candidates ahead of the exams.
The Director of ICT, Mr Nick Agba, alongside members of the ICT team, monitored activities at both centres to ensure smooth and hitch-free operations throughout the examination period. Technical support staff were also deployed across the campuses to provide immediate assistance where necessary.
College management expressed satisfaction with the coordination, organization, and level of students’ adaptation to the CBT format. The management noted that the initiative is aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing transparency in examinations, and aligning the College with global best practices in educational assessment.
Students who participated in the examinations commended the College for providing a conducive environment and adequate orientation ahead of the exams. Many described the CBT process as faster, easier, and more convenient than they initially expected.
Some students also praised the College for successfully managing the examinations simultaneously across both campuses without major technical challenges, describing the exercise as a significant achievement for the College.
The smooth conduct of the EDU and GSC CBT examinations further demonstrates the College’s preparedness and growing capacity to fully integrate digital technology into its academic system. With the successful implementation across the Main Campus and Bebi Campus, the College has taken another bold step toward advancing innovation and excellence in education delivery.
