How to apply for Stanbic IBTC’s N80m University Scholarship
- We recognise the importance and impact of education in the life of every Nigerian youth.
The scholarship initiative is in continuance of our goal to support the dreams and aspirations of Nigerian youths as we have been doing over the years through various activities such as the Youth Leadership Series (YLS), Higher Institution Football League (HIFL) and so on. The scholarship programme is aimed at encouraging hard work and academic excellence amongst Nigerian undergraduates and it is open to students who participated in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and have gained admission into any Nigerian state or federal university.
In the words of Dr Demola Sogunle, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, the organisation recognises the importance and impact of education in the life of every Nigerian youth. According to him: “Education empowers and encourages the youth to prepare for the future while also confronting challenges. Education is a panacea for the growth and enduring development of any nation or organisation.”
The following documents are required for upload to apply for the 2023/2024 Stanbic IBTC University Scholarship:
- Recent Passport Photograph
- Valid ID Card- NIN slip, voter’s card, birth certificate or international passport
- 2023 UTME Result with a minimum score of 250
- Minimum of 5 credits (including Mathematics and English Language) in the O’Level ( WAEC, NECO or GCE) with a valid Statement of Result or Certificate
- JAMB or University Admission Letter

When is the deadline for the 2023/2024 Stanbic IBTC University Scholarship application?
The deadline for the scholarship application is 30 June 2024. Any extension of the deadline will be communicated on our platforms.
What should be the maximum size of my documents?

Can I start the application and upload my documents later?
Yes. You can start your application and upload your documents later. However, you cannot submit your application until you have successfully uploaded all required documents
My University cancelled a session due to the ASUU strike. Can I still apply?
Yes, you can apply. All applications received will be reviewed for consideration.
Can a Direct Entry candidate apply for the scholarship?
No. The scholarship is for fresh UTME candidates with a score of at least 250 and have gained admission into any Nigerian state or federal University for the 2023/2024 academic session.
Can I make changes to my application?
Yes, if you have not submitted the application.
Can I send my documents via email?
No. This application is strictly online.
Can I submit the application after the deadline?
No. After the deadline, the portal closes and no applications will be received, except there is an extension in the deadline.
Do I need to make any payment to be awarded the scholarship?
No. This scholarship scheme is strictly based on merit and the selection criteria. You should not patronise anyone by cash or kind.
Is there any age limit for the scholarship application?
No. There is no age restriction.
I submitted my documents last year for the 2022 University Scholarship and was not shortlisted. Will I still be considered for the scholarship award this year?
No. This is a fresh scholarship application round for the 2023/2024 academic session.
Will I receive confirmation of receipt of my application?
You will receive an on-screen confirmation of successfully submitting your application. Only shortlisted applicants who successfully meet the selection criteria will be contacted.
