The Cross River State Police Command has issued a public notice seeking to identify the owner of a bag recovered in Calabar after it was allegedly forgotten in a commercial minibus by a police officer.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, the incident occurred on Friday, May 8, 2026, while the officer was reportedly travelling from Municipal to 8 Miles.

The Command disclosed that the driver of the minibus found the bag and responsibly handed it over to Hit FM, which later transferred the items to the Police Public Relations Department pending identification and collection by the rightful owner.

Items recovered from the bag include a black backpack, mobile phone accessories and charger, power bank, belt, tablet/iPad pouch, tactical belt/strap, clothing materials, and other personal effects.
