At the Samsung Unpacked event just held, Samsung officially released the Galaxy S25 series of mobile phones, and unexpectedly announced a new model at the end of the event – the Galaxy S25 Edge.
It was noticed that Samsung did not disclose the specific details of the phone, only mentioned its name and showed its internal and side design.
According to technology media Android Authority, citing a Samsung South African representative, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be launched in the US market.
The representative said: “We will launch Ultra, Plus and standard models, which will be available in South Africa. In addition, there is a Slim model, but it will not be sold in South Africa at the beginning, but will be launched in some specific markets.”
He also added: “The specific release plan has not yet been finalized, but it is certain that the United States and South Korea will be launched first, and then it may be launched in other markets in the second wave of releases.”
According to recent rumors, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be the ultra-thin model in Samsung’s flagship series, with a thickness of only 6.4 mm, which is slimmer than Samsung’s other Galaxy phones.
In addition, the design of the phone is expected to be consistent with other models in the Galaxy S25 series, equipped with a triple-camera system, including a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens.
It is reported that the Galaxy S25 Edge may be officially released as early as May this year. However, a Samsung representative told The Verge that the company currently has no more information to share except for the preview at the Unpacked event.
