The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), Prof. Christopher N. Ekong, on Friday, handed over 10 brand-new official vehicles to principal officers and other top management staff to improve administrative efficiency and mobility.
The presentation took place at the Central Administrative Block, Main Campus, Nwaniba Road, on Friday, July 24, 2026.
Beneficiaries include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Enobong E. Ikpeme; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Iniobong Uko; Bursar, Dr Moses Akpan; University Librarian, Dr Thomas Adigun; and President of the UNIUYO Women Association, Mrs Idara Ekong.
Others are Provost, College of Health Sciences, Prof. Dianabasi Eduwem; Dean, Postgraduate School, Prof. Kenneth Opara; and Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Prof. Ashong Ashong.
One vehicle was also allocated to the Abuja Liaison Office, while another was reserved for the University Governing Council.
The beneficiaries thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the gesture, describing it as a morale booster that would improve productivity and support the University’s renewal, restoration, and transformation agenda.
