Former France striker, Thierry Henry, has insisted that Argentina captain, Lionel Messi has passion for his country.
Henry said this as Messi was captured on camera in tears when he received his silver medal after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final on Sunday.
Speaking on Fox Sports, the Arsenal legend said of Messi, “Look at what it means to him. If you ever had any doubt about whether the guy still has any fire in his belly, look at him. Look at what it means.
“Look at this. Everybody’s clapping because you are looking at him, and this is what it means to him.
“You won already. And look at the guy. Look at the passion, desire and the love that he has for his country and how much he puts into it.”
Messi had a wonderful World Cup campaign, scoring eight goals for Argentina.
